Joe Lieberman is front-runner to be next FBI director: report
NYPost by Mark Moore
Former Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman is “leading the candidates” to become the FBI director, a decision President Trump said that he is “very close” to making, CNN reported on Thursday.
“We’re going to have a director who’s going to be outstanding and Ill be announcing that director very soon,” Trump said on Thursday at a joint-news conference with Colombia President Juan Santos.
Earlier at a White House appearance with Santos, Trump was asked if Lieberman was one of the finalists, he answered with an emphatic “Yes.”
Lieberman, 75, who ran for vice president in 2000 and president in 2004, met with Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Wednesday to talk about replacing James Comey, who the president fired last week, and flashed reporters a thumbs-up sign.
