Rand Paul Lays Out Free Market Health Care Options, Tries To Convince Trump To 'Repeal As Much As We Can,' Then 'Fix Remaining Problems'
From Daily Wire
On Monday, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), one of five conservatives opposing the GOP leadership’s health care plan, appeared on CNN’s Newsroom. When anchor Ana Cabrera asked Paul his thoughts on the Senate bill, he replied:
My problem with the Senate bill as it currently exists as we don't fix that [the death spiral]. We keep ten of twelve of the Obamacare regulations; we still keep the idea that you can buy it after you get sick. So I'm concerned that the death spiral of Obamacare may well even get worse with Republican version. I'm also concerned that the Republican version keeps most of the subsidies, and actually creates a brand new subsidy — $120 billion subsidy for insurance companies called a "stabilization fund." All of those things together make me very concerned that we're not going to fix the problem here.
